SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 41
DESIGNATING MARCH 2, 2018, "RED SHIRT FRIDAY, AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SALUTE TO OUR MILITARY" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE
WHEREAS, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support the American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad; and
WHEREAS, the American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization; and WHEREAS, there are 15 active American Legion Auxiliary Units in the state of Delaware; and
WHEREAS, the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Delaware members volunteer countless hours, donate and raise funds to enhance the lives of veterans and their families, and make a difference in communities across Delaware; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Delaware administers programs that support and advocate for veterans and active duty military, contribute to youth development, and provide family and community support; and
WHEREAS, Diane Duscheck was elected national president of the American Legion Auxiliary during the organization’s 98 th National Convention in Reno, Nevada, and will serve as national president for one year; and
WHEREAS, Duscheck has chosen to highlight American Legion Auxiliary Member Pride for her term as national president;
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 149th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that March 2, 2018 be designated as “Red Shirt Friday, American Legion Auxiliary Salute to our Military” in the state of Delaware.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable prepared copy of this Resolution be presented to Diane Duscheck, National President of the American Legion Auxiliary.
SYNOPSIS
This Resolution designates March 2, 2018 as "Red Shirt Friday, American Legion Auxiliary Salute to our Military" in the state of Delaware.
