SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 39

RECOGNIZING JULY 6, 2010 AS INDEPENDENT BUSINESS OWNERS DAY IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE



WHEREAS, independent business owners comprise an important segment of Delaware's citizenry and fulfill a vital role in the state economy; and

WHEREAS, their independently owned businesses enrich the local economy by providing jobs and fostering an atmosphere of competition and innovation; and

WHEREAS, Delaware and the United States of America have a rich history of entrepreneurship that has fueled the economy and provided for technological innovations; and

WHEREAS, independently owned businesses serve the public by providing goods and services that satisfy a defined market need; and

WHEREAS, independent business owners continue to operate in a challenging economic climate;

NOW THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 145th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that the members do hereby recognize July 6, 2010 as Independent Business Owners Day in the State of Delaware.
