SENATE BILL NO. 205

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1.Amend §4134, Title 21, of the Delaware Code, by adding a new subsection (d) to read as follows:

"(d) Any person violating subsection (b) of this section who hits, strikes, or in any way contacts an emergency responder with his or her vehicle shall be guilty of a Class F Felony."

SYNOPSIS

This Bill makes it a Class F Felony to strike an emergency responder while violating the "move over" law applicable to emergency vehicles.
