AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 31 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO URGENT AND PREVENTATIVE DENTAL CARE FOR PREGNANT MEDICAID RECIPIENTS AND TO PUBLIC ASSISTANCE. |
Section 1.Amend �502(2), Title 31 of the Delaware code by inserting the words "urgent or preventative dental care for pregnant recipients," between "surgical care," and "nursing,".
Section 2.Amend �502, Title 31 of the Delaware Code by inserting new subsections (11) and (12) thereto to read:
"(11) �Urgent dental care for pregnant recipients' means examinations, diagnostic radiographs, treatment of pain or infections, including tooth extractions, incisions and drainage, and any other dental care and treatment which the Department of Health and Social Services shall authorize by regulation, provided on an emergency basis to eligible Medicaid recipients who are pregnant or who become pregnant while receiving assistance.
(12) �Preventative dental care for pregnant recipients' means examinations, diagnostic radiographs, dental prophylaxis, non-surgical periodontal therapy, and any other dental care and treatment which the Department of Health and Social Services shall authorize by regulation, provided to eligible Medicaid recipients who are pregnant or who become pregnant while receiving assistance.".
Section 3.Amend �503(b), Title 31 of the Delaware Code by inserting the phrase ", including urgent or preventative dental care for pregnant recipients," between the words "Medical assistance" and "may be granted".
Section 4.Amend �505(3), Title 31 of the Delaware Code by inserting the phrase ", including urgent or preventative dental care for pregnant recipients," between the words "medical care" and "to individuals".
Section 5.Amend �512(7), Title 31 of the Delaware Code by inserting the words "or dental" between the words "medical" and "care" wherever they appear in the subsection.
Section 6.This Act shall become effective upon appropriation by the General Assembly of sufficient funds to accomplish the purposes of this Act.
