HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 35

A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ROUTE 301 PROJECT.

WHEREAS, the 301 project is important to the economic infrastructure for the State of Delaware;

WHEREAS, there is a desire to ensure that the construction of the Spur Road part of the 301 project does not begin until such time as the anticipated traffic congestion in the surrounding area warrants its construction; and

WHEREAS, the House Majority Leadership, the Minority Leadership, DelDOT and the Administration desire to negotiate, to a final resolution, a bill that will effectuate this goal;

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 145th General Assembly of the State of Delaware that DelDOT, the Administration, WILMAPCO, the Minority Leadership of the House, the Majority Leadership of the House and the House Chair of the Bond Bill agree to sit down over the next 6 weeks to develop and negotiate to final resolution a bill to amend the existing epilogue language, with such bill mandating certain trigger mechanisms for the Spur Road.These mechanisms will tie the initiation of the construction of the Spur Road part of the 301 project to the traffic congestion in the surrounding area.
