146th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 33

COMMENDING THE EFFORTS OF DELAWARE'S PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOLS IN EDUCATING DELAWARE STUDENTS.



WHEREAS, public charter schools are an integral part of Delaware's public school system; and

WHEREAS, Delaware public charter schools strengthen the state's portfolio of public schools by providing mission-driven, high-quality choices to families; and

WHEREAS, Delaware public charter schools are instrumental in improving the educational achievements of students attending those schools; and

WHEREAS, Delaware public charter schools offer Delaware students an opportunity to participate in specialized courses of instruction; and

WHERERAS, the creation of Delaware public charter schools resulted in an increase in the participation of parents and students in the educational system; and

WHEREAS, the week of May 6, 2012, to May 12, 2012, is designated as National Charter School Week.

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 146th General Assembly of the State of Delaware that Delaware's public charter schools are hereby commended for their role in improving Delaware's public education system and enhancing their students' academic achievement.



SYNOPSIS

This Resolution commends Delaware's public charter schools for their efforts in educating Delaware students.
