DIRECTING THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET TO STUDY DEFERRED RETIREMENT OPTION PLANS. |
WHEREAS, Deferred Retirement Option Plans can create cost savings for employers while maintaining valued employees; and
WHEREAS, the House of Representatives believes that saving the State of Delaware money while maintaining quality employees is a goal that the State of Delaware should try to achieve; and
WHEREAS, Deferred Retirement Option Plans present tax, legal, and plan design questions that warrant analysis and consideration; and
WHEREAS, the benefits of implementing a Deferred Retirement Option Plan should be examined.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by
the House of Representatives of the 145th General Assembly of the State of
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that the Office of Management and Budget is directed to identify
whether the use of a Deferred Retirement Option Plan by any agency, group of
employees, group of officers, or section of State Government, including the
judiciary, could save the State of
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Office of Management and Budget shall provide a report to the Speaker of the House no later than December 15, 2009 with recommendations on the feasibility of implementing a Deferred Retirement Option Plan, including the best method and identification of any agency, group of employees, group of officers, or section within State Government that would be suitable for a Deferred Retirement Option Plan pilot program.
SYNOPSIS
This resolution directs the Office of Management and Budget to study and provide a report to the Speaker of the House no later than December 15, 2009 with recommendations on the feasibility of implementing a Deferred Retirement Option Plan, including the best method and identification of any agency, group of employees, group of officers, or section within State Government that that would be suitable for a Deferred Retirement Option Plan pilot program. |
