HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 21

REQUESTING THE SECRETARY OF FINANCE TO ISSUE A REPORT ASSESSING HOW THE PRIVATIZATION OF LIQUOR STORES IN PENNSYLVANIA WILL IMPACT THE DELAWARE ECONOMY.



WHEREAS, the Governor of Pennsylvania is supporting legislation to privatize all liquor stores in Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania legislature is expected to pass legislation by June 30 privatizing liquor stores in Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the privatization of liquor stores in Pennsylvania will have a significant financial impact on liquor stores in Delaware, and in particular those stores located in New Castle County near the Pennsylvania border;

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 147th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, that the Secretary of Finance is hereby requested to provide a report to the General Assembly by December 31, 2013 assessing how the privatization of liquor stores in Pennsylvania will impact the Delaware economy.
