147th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 53

RECOGNIZING MAY 4-10, 2014 AS "TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK."



WHEREAS, teachers make our schools great places for children to grow and learn; and

WHEREAS, teachers work to open students' minds to ideas, knowledge and dreams; and

WHEREAS, teachers help to keep American democracy alive by laying the foundation for good citizenship; and

WHEREAS, teachers fill many roles, including that of listeners, explorers, role models, motivators and mentors; and

WHEREAS, teachers continue to influence us long after our school days are only memories;

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 147th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, that in celebration of and in gratitude to the work of the teachers in our State, the General Assembly proclaims that the week of May 4-10, 2014, shall hereby be recognized as "Teacher Appreciation Week."


SYNOPSIS

This concurrent resolution recognizes the week of May 4-10, 2014 as "Teacher Appreciation Week."
