HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 109
REAFFIRMING COMMITMENT TO FOSTERING YOUTH ADVOCACY FOR PUBLIC POLICY.
WHEREAS, the youth represent the future of our society and have a vested interest in shaping the world they will inherit; and
WHEREAS, engaging young people in the democratic process fosters civic responsibility, critical thinking, and active citizenship; and
WHEREAS, youth voices bring unique perspectives, fresh ideas, and innovative solutions to pressing societal issues; and
WHEREAS, empowering youth to advocate for public policy changes promotes social justice, equity, and inclusivity in our communities; and
WHEREAS, the active involvement of young people in advocating for public policy changes strengthens democracy and ensures that policies reflect the needs and aspirations of all generations; and
WHEREAS, the General Assembly acknowledges and supports the vital role of youth advocacy in driving positive change in public policy.
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 152nd General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, reaffirms our commitment to fostering an inclusive and participatory democracy where the voices of young people are valued, respected, and heard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the General Assembly encourages educational institutions, community organizations, and government agencies to provide platforms and resources for youth to engage in meaningful advocacy efforts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the General Assembly recognizes the importance of intergenerational collaboration and commits to listening to and amplifying the voices of young people in our decision-making processes, valuing their perspectives, acting upon their recommendations, and to working alongside young people to address the complex challenges facing our society.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the General Assembly calls upon all stakeholders to invest in youth leadership development programs, mentorship initiatives, and opportunities for civic engagement to empower the next generation of change-makers.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to relevant government agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations to promote awareness and implementation of youth advocacy initiatives.
SYNOPSIS
This Concurrent Resolution reaffirms the State of Delaware’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and participatory democracy where the voices of young people are valued, respected, and heard.
