AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 14 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. |
Section 1.Amend Chapter 1, Title 14 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:
§134 Disclosure of Information
(a) For purposes of this section "directive" means any form of communication that either directs or suggests that the Department or the State (when the directive to the State applies to the powers, duties, or functions of the Department) adopt, implement, terminate, or deny a particular rule, regulation, plan, strategy, application, policy or concept.
(b) Within 5 days of receipt of a directive from any person, employee, or agency of the Federal Government, the Department shall cause to be posted a copy of the directive on the Department website maintained by the State, with a link to the posted copies of these directives being available on the opening page of the website.
SYNOPSIS
The Department of Education often implements policies and educational requirements based upon directives issued by the United States Department of Education.This Bill will require that any directive received by the Department of Education from the Federal Government be automatically disclosed on the Department of Education website without the necessity for making a Freedom of Information Request. |
