An act to amend Section 66905.2 of the Government Code, relating
to the California Tahoe Conservancy.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 954, as introduced, Gaines. California Tahoe Conservancy.
Existing law establishes the California Tahoe Conservancy and
makes various legislative findings and declarations relating to the
need to have a governmental agency with power to acquire, hold, and
manage property in the Lake Tahoe region.
This bill would make various technical, nonsubstantive changes in
those legislative findings and declarations.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 66905.2 of the Government Code is amended to
read:
66905.2. It is further found and declared that there is a need to
maintain an equilibrium a balance
between the region's natural endowment and its manmade environment
, ; to protect the natural environment,
including water quality, air quality, wildlife, and habitat areas
, ; to acquire, restore, and manage
property , ; and to preserve the scenic
beauty and recreational opportunities of the region. It is
recognized that for the purpose of enhancing
improving the efficiency and governmental effectiveness of the
region, it is imperative that there be established a governmental
agency with power to acquire , hold, and manage property in the
Lake Tahoe region.
