An act relating to wildfire prevention.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 653, as introduced, Cortese. Wildfire prevention: environmentally sensitive vegetation management.

Existing law establishes various programs for the prevention and reduction of wildfires.

This bill would provide that it is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to define “environmentally sensitive vegetation management” and to encourage the use of environmentally sensitive vegetation management practices.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to define “environmentally sensitive vegetation management” and to encourage the use of environmentally sensitive vegetation management practices.
