   An act to amend Section 2000 of the Business and Professions Code,
relating to medical practice.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 395, as introduced, Wyland. Medical practice.
   Existing law, the Medical Practice Act, provides for the licensure
and regulation of medical practitioners by the Medical Board of
California in the Department of Consumer Affairs.
   This bill would make nonsubstantive and technical changes to those
provisions.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 2000 of the Business and Professions Code is
amended to read:
   2000.  This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the Medical
Practice Act. Whenever  a  reference is made to the
Medical Practice Act by  the  provisions of any
statute, it is to be construed as referring to  the 
provisions of this chapter.
