An act to amend Section 20000 of the Government Code, relating to
retirement.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 293, as introduced, Pan. Public employees: retirement.
Existing law, the Public Employees' Retirement Law establishes the
Public Employees' Retirement System for the purpose of providing
pension benefits to specified public employees.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to the
provision that names that law.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 20000 of the Government Code is amended to
read:
20000. This part shall be known and may be cited as
the Public Employees' Retirement Law.
