BILL TEXT
INTRODUCED BY Senator Wyland
FEBRUARY 9, 2011
An act to amend Section 23.8 of the Business and Professions Code,
relating to business and professions.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 227, as introduced, Wyland. Business and professions:
licensure.
Existing law, under the Business and Professions Code, provides
for the regulation and licensure of various professionals. Existing
law provides that the term "licentiate," as used in the Business and
Professions Code, refers to any person authorized by a license,
certificate, registration, or other means to engage in a business or
profession regulated by that code and as specified.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that
provision.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 23.8 of the Business and Professions Code is
amended to read:
23.8. "Licentiate" or "licensee" means any person
authorized by a license, certificate, registration, or any
other means to engage in a business or profession that is
regulated by this code or referred to in Sections 1000 and 3600.
