CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2017–2018 REGULAR SESSION

Senate Bill No. 1445

Introduced by Senator Stone

February 16, 2018

An act to amend Section 25142 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to hazardous waste.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 1445, as introduced, Stone. Hazardous waste.
Under the hazardous waste control laws, the Department of Toxic Substances Control generally regulates the handling and management of hazardous waste. Existing law requires the department to develop and adopt by regulation criteria and guidelines for the identification of hazardous wastes and extremely hazardous wastes, and to manage waste that conforms to one of those criteria in accordance with permits, orders, and regulations issued or adopted by the department and in accordance with state building standards relating to hazardous waste facilities, or to recycle that waste, as specified.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to that provision.
