An act to amend Section 92 of the Penal Code, relating to crime.

SB 1418, as introduced, Berryhill. Bribery.
Existing law makes it a felony to give or offer to give a bribe to a judicial officer, juror, referee, arbitrator, or umpire, or to a person who is authorized by law to hear or determine a question or controversy, with the intent to influence his or her vote, opinion, or decision on a matter or question brought before him or her for a decision.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 92 of the Penal Code is amended to read:

92.
 Every A person who gives or offers to give a bribe to any a judicial officer, juror, referee, arbitrator, or umpire, or to any a person who may be is authorized by law to hear or determine any a question or controversy, with intent to influence his or her vote, opinion, or decision upon any a matter or question which that is or may be brought before him or her for decision, is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three three, or four years.
