An act to add Section 338 to the Unemployment Insurance Code, relating to unemployment insurance.

Employment Development Department: claim information.
Existing law establishes in the Labor and Workforce Development Agency the Employment Development Department, which is charged with various functions, including job creation activities, computation of benefits, and determination of contribution rates and collection of contributions for benefits. Existing law provides for the payment of unemployment compensation benefits to eligible persons who are unemployed through no fault of their own through a federal-state unemployment insurance program administered by the Employment Development Department.
Existing law requires the Director of Employment Development to make available, from September 4, 2020, to July 1, 2021, on the department’s internet website, in addition to the information currently provided on the department’s Unemployment Insurance Data Dashboard, specified information about unique
unemployment insurance claims.
This bill would require the department, using the online portals provided via the department’s internet website, to make available to an employer and update a list list, as provided, of claimants approved to receive benefits from that employer and a method by which the employer can object to an approved claim, as specified. employer.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 338 is added to the Unemployment Insurance Code, to read:338.
Using the online portals provided via the department’s internet website, the department shall do all of the following:(a) Make available to an employer a list of claimants approved to receive benefits from that employer as those claims are approved.
(1)
(b) The department shall update the list at least once every two weeks as necessary to keep the list of approved claimants current.
(2)
(c) The information in the list shall include, but is not limited to, the name of the claimant and the date the claimant began receiving benefits.
(b)On the same web page as the list of approved
claimants, the department shall provide a method by which the employer can object to the approved claim and provide additional information about the claimant.
