An act relating to taxation.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 978, as introduced, Gorell. State tax agency consolidation.
Existing law requires state agencies to administer various taxes.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to
consolidate the tax administration functions of state agencies, as
provided.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to consolidate the
tax administration functions of state agencies by a date recommended
by the Controller or January 1, 2015, whichever comes first. It is
also the intent of the Legislature that the Controller shall oversee
the consolidation of state tax administration functions.
