   An act to amend Section 11005.1 of the Government Code, relating
to gifts to the state.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 857, as introduced, Jones. State: gifts of real and personal
property.
   Existing law authorizes the Director of Finance to accept on
behalf of the state any gift of real or personal property whenever he
deems the gift and the terms and conditions thereof to be in the
best interest of the state.
   This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to this
law.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 11005.1 of the Government Code is amended to
read:
   11005.1.  The Director of Finance may accept on behalf of the
 State   state  any gift of real or
personal property whenever he  or she  deems  such
  that the  gift and the terms and conditions
 thereof   of the gift  to be in the best
interest of the  State   state  .
