An act to amend Section 13260 of the Elections Code, relating to elections.

AB 820, as introduced, Cervantes.
Ballots.
Existing law authorizes the Secretary of State to approve the use of ballot cards only under specified conditions, including if the ballot is designed with a section with places for the voter to punch holes to indicate the voter’s choices of candidates and votes on measures.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 13260 of the Elections Code is amended to read:13260.
In approving ballots and ballot cards, the Secretary of State shall not give his or her approval unless the following are true:(a) The size, shape, and texture of the ballot card are suitable for use in the automatic device in which it is intended to be placed.
(b) The ballot cards are so designed that they can readily be arranged with a section or ballot
