An act to amend Section 231 of the Streets and Highways Code,
relating to state highways.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 79, as introduced, Mathis. State highway routes: route numbers.
Existing law gives the Department of Transportation full
possession and control of all state highways. Existing law describes
the authorized routes in the state highway system by route numbers
and provides that the route numbers are those given to the routes by
the California Transportation Commission.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to these
provisions.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 231 of the Streets and Highways Code is amended
to read:
231. As used in this chapter, "route" means State
a state highway route and the route numbers are
those given the State state highway
routes or portions thereof of those routes
by the commission. Each complete route is described in
article 3 of this chapter. Article 3 (commencing with
Section 300).
