LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of public and private cemeteries and for the disposition of human remains. Existing law requires cemeteries to keep specific records relating to the disposition of human remains, including orders for the removal of interred remains. Existing law authorizes those records to be kept in original form or by photocopy, microfilm, microfiche, laser disc, or any other method that can produce an accurate reproduction of the original record.
This bill would authorize the records to be kept on compact disc or electronic file and would eliminate the express authorization for the records to be kept on laser
disc.
