An act to amend Section 13511 of the Penal Code, relating to peace officer training.

Peace officer training: testing.
Existing law requires the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training to adopt standards regarding the training of peace officers and to allow required training to be obtained at approved institutions. Existing law requires the commission, for those instances where individuals have acquired prior comparable peace officer training, to adopt regulations providing for alternative means for satisfying the training required by a specified provision of law.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to this provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 13511 of the Penal Code is amended to read:13511.
(a) In establishing standards for training, the commission shall, so far as consistent with the purposes of this chapter, permit required training to be obtained at institutions approved by the commission.(b) In those instances where individuals have acquired prior comparable peace officer training, the commission shall, shall adopt regulations providing for alternative means for satisfying the training required by Section 832.3. The commission shall charge a fee to cover administrative costs associated with the testing conducted under
this subdivision.
