AB 599, as introduced, Waldron. Legislative Modernization Working Group.
Existing provisions of the California Constitution provide that the legislative power of the State is vested in the California Legislature, as specified. Existing law provides for the organization and administration of the Legislature.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to establish the Legislative Modernization Working Group, which would be comprised of experts within the technology industry and Members of the Legislature. The working group would make recommendations to the Legislature regarding the modernization of legislative processes and operations.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to establish the Legislative Modernization Working Group, which would be comprised of experts within the technology industry and Members of the Legislature. It is further the intent of the Legislature that the working group make recommendations to the Legislature regarding the modernization of legislative processes and operations including streamlining processes, maximizing taxpayer savings, increasing cybersecurity, reducing its carbon footprint, and providing flexible, and family-friendly workplaces.
