   An act to amend Section 359 of the Streets and Highways Code,
relating to highways.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 464, as introduced, Olsen. Highway Route 59.
   Existing law provides that the Department of Transportation has
full possession and control of all state highways. Existing law
describes the authorized routes in the state highway system. Existing
law authorizes the California Transportation Commission to select,
adopt, and determine the location for state highways on routes
authorized by law, as specified. Existing law provides that State
Highway Route 59 is from Route 152 northerly to Route 99 near Merced
and from Route 99 near Merced to Snelling.
   This bill would provide that Route 59 also includes the segment of
roadway from Route 132 to Route 108/120.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 359 of the Streets and Highways Code is amended
to read:
   359.  Route 59 is from:
   (a) Route 152 northerly to Route 99 near Merced.
   (b) Route 99 near Merced to Snelling. 
   (c) Route 132 to the junction of Route 108/120.
