CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2021–2022 REGULAR SESSION

Assembly Bill
No. 463

Introduced by Assembly Member Mathis

February 08, 2021

An act to amend Section 23826.14 of the Business and Professions Code, relating to alcoholic beverages.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 463, as amended, Mathis. Extra licenses: County of Inyo.
Existing law, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, administered by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, regulates the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages and the granting of licenses for the manufacture, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverages within the state. Existing law limits the amount of on-sale general licenses that may be issued by the department based on the population of the county in which the licensed premises are located.
Existing law provides an exception to this limitation for the County of Inyo, allowing a total of 5 extra new licenses to be issued between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2019.
This bill would recast those provisions to allow a total of five 5 extra new licenses to be issued between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2025. The bill would also authorize an additional 5 extra new licenses to be issued between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2025.

This bill would make legislative findings and declarations regarding the necessity of a special statute.

This bill would make legislative findings and declarations as to the necessity of a special statute for County of Inyo.
