An act to amend Section 12140 of the Unemployment Insurance Code,
relating to unemployment insurance.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 2604, as introduced, Fong. Unemployment insurance: job creation
experimental program.
Existing law requires the Employment Development Department to
administer a specified job creation grant program intended to
encourage voluntary participation by employers in the private sector,
in the creation of permanent employment opportunities, as provided.
Existing law provides that nothing in those provisions shall be
construed to impose upon any employer who is participating in a job
creation experimental program any requirement beyond what is
contained in other provisions of law with respect to which persons
shall or may be hired by that employer to fill job vacancies created
by the operation of the experimental program.
This bill would make various nonsubstantive, technical changes in
the above provisions relating to the experimental job creation
program.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 12140 of the Unemployment Insurance Code is
amended to read:
12140. Nothing in this division shall be construed to impose upon
any employer who is participating in a job
an employment creation experimental program under this division
any requirement beyond what is contained in other provisions of law
with respect to what which persons
shall or may be hired by such that
employer to fill job vacancies opportunities
created by the operation of the experimental program.
