BILL NUMBER: AB 2574 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Morrell FEBRUARY 24, 2012 An act to amend Section 14002 of the Business and Professions Code, relating to business rights. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2574, as introduced, Morrell. Business rights. Existing law provides for the registration of trademarks, trade names and designations, container and laundry-supply brands, and farm names. Existing law defines the scope of agency for these purposes. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 14002 of the Business and Professions Code is amended to read: 14002. Every actwhich,that, according to this division, may be done by or to any person, may be done by or to the agent of such person for that purpose, unless a contrary intention clearly appears.
