An act to amend Section 9102 of the Vehicle Code, relating to vehicle fees.

AB 2542, as introduced, Fong. Vehicles: fees.
Existing law exempts from payment of specified fees any vehicle owned by a nonprofit collegiate educational institution having 5,000 or more enrolled students and 5,000 or more acres that is used for firefighting within the acreage of the institution.
This bill would change the required student enrollment for the exemption from 5,000 to 4,500.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 9102 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:

9102.
 The fees specified in this code code, except fees for duplicate plates, certificates, or cards cards, need not be paid for any vehicle owned by an a nonprofit educational institution of collegiate grade not conducted for profit and having an enrollment of 5,000 4,500 students or more and having an acreage of 5,000 acres or more, if such the vehicle is used for fire-fighting firefighting purposes within the limits of the acreage of such the institution and is operated principally on roads owned by such the institution.
