February 17, 2022

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 2389, as introduced, Voepel. Veterans.
Existing law authorizes the board of supervisors of a county to grant financial assistance, relief, and support to indigent veterans. Existing law, for these purposes, defines “veteran” as a person who has been honorably discharged from the United States Army, United States Navy, United States Air Force, United States Marine Corps, United States Coast Guard, the Merchant Marine, or the American Red Cross, and who has served in a war.
This bill would include persons who have been honorably discharged from the United States Space Force in that definition.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

920.
