CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2021–2022 REGULAR SESSION

Assembly Bill
No. 2249

Introduced by Assembly Member Carrillo

February 16, 2022

An act to amend Section 67313 of the Education Code, relating to public postsecondary education.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 2249, as introduced, Carrillo. Public postsecondary education: students with disabilities.
Existing law provides for various programs and services for students with disabilities in public postsecondary education. Existing law prohibits those provisions from being construed as directing a student, or students, toward a particular program or service or used to deny a student an education because the student does not wish to receive those programs or services.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 67313 of the Education Code is amended to read:

67313.
Nothing in this This chapter shall not be construed to be directing any a student, or students, toward a particular program or service for students with disabilities nor shall anything in this chapter be or used to deny any a student an education because he or she the student does not wish to receive state funded state-funded disabled student programs and services.
