An act to amend Section 239 of the Food and Agricultural Code, relating to the Agriculture Trust Fund.

AB 2187, as introduced, Mathis. Agriculture Trust Fund: audit.
Existing law creates the Agriculture Trust Fund, the activities of which are subject to audit at least once every 2 years. Existing law provides that the trust accounts in the fund are to be used for the purpose of implementing and continuing agricultural programs, as specified.
This bill would instead provide that the Agriculture Trust Fund shall be audited at least once every year.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 239 of the Food and Agricultural Code is amended to read:

239.
 All trust fund activities shall be subject to an audit at least once every two years year by an auditing firm selected by the director secretary in accordance with Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 10290) of Part 2 of Division 2 of the Public Contract Code. A copy of the audit shall be delivered to the director secretary within 30 days after completion.
