BILL NUMBER: AB 1977 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Bradford FEBRUARY 23, 2012 An act to amend Section 4581 of the Public Resources Code, relating to timber harvesting. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1977, as introduced, Bradford. Timber harvesting plans. The Z'berg-Nejedly Forest Practice Act of 1973 prohibits a person from conducting timber operations unless a timber harvesting plan prepared by a registered professional forester has been submitted to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 4581 of the Public Resources Code is amended to read: 4581.NoA person shall not conduct timber operations unless a timber harvesting plan prepared by a registered professional forester has been submitted forsuchthose operations to the department pursuant to this article.SuchThe plan shall be required in addition to the license required in Section 4571.
