LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1962, Allen. Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District. Existing law creates the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District with various powers and duties relative to the operation of a rail transit system in Sonoma and Marin Counties. Existing law provides that the district shall comply with the design review process of the local jurisdictions in which any of its rail transit facilities are to be constructed, with the local jurisdiction's design review and approval to be for advisory purposes only. (b) The district may contract with any public agency or person for the operation of shuttle services necessary or convenient for rail transit. (c) In Sonoma County, north of Healdsburg, the district shall locate commuter stations only within incorporated areas. (d) In Marin County north of San Rafael, the district shall locate commuter stations only within areas that are incorporated as of the operative date of this part.
