BILL NUMBER: AB 1541 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Waldron JANUARY 23, 2014 An act to amend Section 14611 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, relating to Medi-Cal. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1541, as introduced, Waldron. Medi-Cal: hospital reimbursement. Existing law provides for the Medi-Cal program, which is administered by the State Department of Health Care Services and under which qualified low-income persons receive health care benefits. Existing law declares the intent of the Legislature to enact a method for reimbursing hospitals for inpatient and outpatient services provided to Medi-Cal beneficiaries on a prospectively negotiated contractual basis and to develop and test alternatives that would become the basis for a permanent contracting system. This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that statement of intent. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 14611 of the Welfare and Institutions Code is amended to read: 14611.
