An act to amend Section 17211 of the Education Code, relating to school facilities.

AB 1501, as introduced, Quirk-Silva. Schoolsites.
Existing law requires, prior to commencing the acquisition of real property for a new schoolsite or an addition to an existing schoolsite, the governing board of a school district to evaluate the property at a public hearing using the site selection standards established by the State Department of Education, as provided.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this law.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 17211 of the Education Code is amended to read:

17211.
 Prior to Before commencing the acquisition of real property for a new schoolsite or an addition to an existing schoolsite, the governing board of a school district shall evaluate the property at a public hearing using the site selection standards established by the State Department of Education pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 17251. The governing board of the school district may direct the district’s advisory committee established pursuant to Section 17388 to evaluate the property pursuant to those site selection standards and to report its findings to the governing board of the school district at the public hearing.
