An act relating to the Santa Ana River Conservancy Program. Program, and making an appropriation therefor.

AB 1235, as amended, Daly.
Santa Ana River Conservancy Program.
Existing law establishes the State Coastal Conservancy with prescribed powers and responsibilities for implementing and administering various programs intended to preserve, protect, and restore the state’s coastal areas. Existing law also establishes the Santa Ana River Conservancy Program, to be administered by the conservancy, for purposes related to the implementation of projects to restore, preserve, and enhance specified lands in the Santa Ana River region, as defined.
This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would identify new funding sources to support the program.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
The sum of twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) is hereby appropriated from the General Fund to the State Coastal Conservancy to be expended for the purposes of Chapter 4.6 (commencing with Section 31170) of Division 21 of the Public Resources Code.It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would amend Chapter 4.6 (commencing with Section 31170) of Division 21 of the Public Resources Code to identify new funding sources to support the Santa Ana River Conservancy Program.
