BILL NUMBER: AB 1009 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Mansoor FEBRUARY 22, 2013 An act to amend Section 16430 of the Penal Code, relating to deadly weapons. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1009, as introduced, Mansoor. Deadly weapons: definition. Existing law defines a deadly weapon as any weapon, the possession or concealed carrying of which is prohibited by any specified provisions of law. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 16430 of the Penal Code is amended to read: 16430. As used in Division 4 (commencing with Section 18250) of Title 2, "deadly weapon" means any weapon, the possession or concealed carrying of which is prohibited by anyprovisionof the provisions listed in Section 16590.
