An act to add Section 67912 to the Government Code, relating to transportation.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1001, as introduced, Kiley. Placer County Transportation Planning Agency.

Existing law requires the Director of Transportation to designate a transportation planning agency in each area of the state with various transportation planning, programming, and related responsibilities. Existing law creates the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency as the transportation planning agency for the portion of Placer County outside of the Tahoe Basin.

This bill would authorize the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency to acquire and dispose of real and personal property necessary to the full or convenient exercise of its powers, as specified.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

 Section 67912 is added to the Government Code, to read:

67912.

 The agency may take by grant, purchase, devise, or lease, or otherwise acquire, and hold and enjoy, real and personal property of every kind within or without its area of jurisdiction necessary to the full or convenient exercise of its powers. The agency may lease, mortgage, sell, or otherwise dispose of any real or personal property within or without its area of jurisdiction necessary to the full or convenient exercise of its powers.
