FISCAL NOTE
Senate Bill 259 as introduced proposes a Constitutional Amendment which, if ratified, would authorize the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, by joint proclamation, to convene the Legislature into a special session, which would increase the obligations of the Legislature and the State General Fund by an undetermined amount dependent upon the estimated cost of a special session and the number of times the special session is convened pursuant to the provisions of this bill. The total estimated cost of a special session is $360,000.
This bill will increase the proclamation expenses of the Governor, paid from the State General Fund, by an estimated $100,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023.
