FISCAL NOTE
House Bill 157 as introduced proposes a Constitutional Amendment which, if ratified, would establish the 10-member Alabama Court Cost Commission to review existing laws regarding court costs and proposals for new court costs. This would increase obligations of the Commission, presumably funded by the State General Fund, by an estimated $2,500 per day for each meeting of the Commission.
This bill will increase the proclamation expenses of the Governor, paid from the State General Fund, by an estimated $100,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023.
