Summary

As enacted, requires the department to make chaplain services available on a regular basis to juveniles who are housed in a youth development center; prohibits the department from requiring a juvenile to attend or use chaplain services; requires the department to provide annual training to youth service officers on best practices for behavior management and conflict resolution in the context of supervision of juvenile justice youth; requires the department to house children 16 years of age or older separately from younger children, unless housing the children together is necessary for the safety and well-being of the younger children or to otherwise comply with law relative to the use of seclusion at juvenile detention facilities. - Amends TCA Title 37.
