Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that, for the Town of Normal, a president must be elected every 4 years at the general municipal election with other officers to be elected or appointed as set forth by ordinance of the corporate authorities. Provides that each officer shall continue to hold office until the officer's successor is selected and qualified. Sets forth how a vacancy must be filled. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5adding Section 5-2-20 as follows:
6 (65 ILCS 5/5-2-20 new)
7 Sec. 5-2-20. Town of Normal; officers. For the Town of
8Normal, a president must be elected every 4 years at the
9general municipal election with other officers to be elected
10or appointed as set forth by ordinance of the corporate
11authorities. Each officer shall continue to hold office until
12the officer's successor is selected and qualified. Each
13vacancy must be filled under Section 3.1-10-50.
