AN ACT

 

amending Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-718.01; relating to school curriculum.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-718.01, to read:

START_STATUTE15-718.01.  Training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation

A.  All pupils shall be provided at least one training session in cardiopulmonary resuscitation during the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh or twelfth grade.

B.  The training prescribed in this section shall be provided by a person who is either:

1.  Certified by a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that provides training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

2.  A physician who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 13 or 17.

3.  A nurse practitioner who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 15.

4.  A physician assistant who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 25. END_STATUTE
