Commending the Glenvar High School boys' swim and dive team.

WHEREAS, the Glenvar High School boys' swim and dive team of Roanoke County won the Virginia High School League Class 1/2 combined state championship on February 15, 2024, at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center in Richmond; and

WHEREAS, the Glenvar High School Highlanders tallied 238 points during the meet to outpace the runner-up Radford High School Bobcats by 77 points and bring home a state title; and

WHEREAS, the Glenvar Highlanders' victory was a total team effort, led by an extraordinary performance from Connor Wilkes, who won first place medals in the 50-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle relay, and 200-yard medley relay events; and

WHEREAS, the success of the Glenvar High School Highlanders is the result of the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Glenvar High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Glenvar High School boys' swim and dive team for winning the 2024 Virginia High School League Class 1/2 combined state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Glenvar High School boys' swim and dive team as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievement.
