SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 473
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Tony LeStourgeon
 
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
  the passing of Anthony Wayne LeStourgeon of Bandera on March 25,
  2022, at the age of 52; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Cecil W. LeStourgeon and Annette Teich
  LeStourgeon, Tony LeStourgeon was born in San Antonio on March 1,
  1970, and he grew up in Bandera with the companionship of his
  sisters, Connie, Lori, and Donna; he graduated from Medina High
  School in 1988; and
         WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty,
  Mr. LeStourgeon served in the U.S. Army for 11 years; after
  completing his basic training, he became a light infantryman in
  the 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord, California; he went on to
  attend the Jungle Operations Training Center at Fort Sherman,
  Panama, and he served with the Alpha Gators and Rakkasans at Fort
  Campbell, Kentucky; he completed tours in Korea and Saudi Arabia,
  and he subsequently accepted a position as a recruiter in
  Phoenix, Arizona; returning to the infantry field, he served with
  the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York, before
  concluding his tenure with the military; his honors included an
  Expert Infantry Badge as well as several Commendation Medals; and
         WHEREAS, In 2001, Mr. LeStourgeon joined his father in the
  masonry industry in Bandera, and he worked on many buildings and
  houses across the city and surrounding counties; he lived for a
  time on the Oregon Coast before returning to Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. LeStourgeon took great pride in his sons,
  Corey, Aaron, and Matthew, and his daughter, Delaney, and in
  their youth, he served as a coach for their Little League and Flag
  Football teams; with the passing years, he had the pleasure of
  welcoming into his family six grandchildren, Caliyah, Kennedy,
  Jackson, Sawyer, Ira, and Jacob; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man, a proud veteran, and an
  engaged member of his community, Tony LeStourgeon will be
  remembered with admiration and affection by all who were
  privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Anthony Wayne
  LeStourgeon and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his
  family and to his many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Tony LeStourgeon.
