A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to requiring certain institutions of higher education to
  enter into an agreement to offer undergraduate courses in Texas
  History.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 51.302, Education Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
         (d)  A college or university receiving state support or state
  aid from public funds that does not offer at least three semester
  credit hours or the equivalent in Texas History to undergraduate
  students shall enter into an agreement with another postsecondary
  educational institution to offer to the college or university's
  undergraduate students at least three semester credit hours or the
  equivalent in Texas History.
         SECTION 2.  This Act applies beginning with the 2023-2024
  academic year.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
