R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Michael Allen Masters
  of Austin were deeply saddened by his passing on August 21, 2023, at
  the age of 71; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Michael
  Masters was born on September 27, 1951, and he graduated from
  Chelmsford High School; answering his nation's call to duty, he
  joined the U.S. Army in 1976, and he served with distinction for two
  decades before concluding his career in 1996; he demonstrated an
  unwavering commitment to the military and took great pride in his
  service; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Masters was a devoted father to his two
  daughters, Cristina and Katie, and over the years, his treasured
  family grew to include four grandchildren, Joey, Gabriel, Cameron,
  and Hannah; during his leisure hours, he enjoyed playing golf,
  watching Star Trek, and spending time with his loved ones; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his warmth and delightful sense of
  humor, Michael Masters brightened the world for all who knew him,
  and he leaves behind a legacy that his family and friends can
  remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Michael Allen Masters and extend sincere condolences to the
  members of his family: to his daughters, Cristina Masters and her
  husband, Andrew Durham, and Katie Boland and her husband, Matthew
  Boland; to his grandchildren, Joey and Gabriel Masters-Durham and
  Cameron and Hannah Boland; to his former wife, Susan Masters; and to
  his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael
  Masters.
